Overview:
If you currently have the Revision 4 Pneumatics Bracket, and have been sent a Revision 5 Pneumatics Bracket Upgrade Kit, please follow these instructions to upgrade your sorter.
NOTE: THERE IS A VARIANT THAT EXISTS IF IT LOOKS LIKE THE FOLLOWING PROCEED WITH THESE INTRUCTIONS AS WELL
Hardware/Tools Needed:
- New Pneumatics Bracket and Upgrade Kit, if applicable (Sent by Customer Support)
- Toolkit Components
- T15 Star Bit
- P1 Phillips Bit
- 7mm Hex Driver
- Orange/ Red Ratchet
Revision 5 Upgrade Instructions:
Original Bracket Removal:
- Fully power off the sorter with the silver button in the front until the blue light turns off, then turn off the power switch in the back.
- Remove the Electronics Bay Side Panel.
- Disconnect the three connections that the solenoid cable (pictured below) connect into the Duet Board.
- Free the solenoid cable by either reverse threading, or removing the zip tie(s) securing it in place.
- Do Not Cut any of the other cables the zip ties are holding in place.
- Open the lid of the sorter. Move the piston toward the front to allow access to the pneumatics bracket in the rear of the sorting bay.
- Disconnect the pneumatic tubing that travels out of the bracket. This includes the clear tubing on the far right, and both the blue and silver tubes on the left side.
- To disconnect the tubes, you must push in on the SharkBite connectors while pulling out on the tubes.
- Remove the original bracket assembly including wires. This will require pulling out the wires with the bracket from the bottom right-hand circle cut out of the frame.
- Unscrew the nuts holding the bracket in place with the 7mm Hex Driver.

- You may need to keep the screws steady on the back side of your sorter while loosening, if the screws begin to rotate.
- When you are finished, please save your old Pneumatics Bracket and return it to us via the box and return label that came with your Upgrade Kit.

New Bracket Install:
- Mount the new bracket with the 7mm hex nuts.
- See Pneumatics Bracket Installation Guide
- Route the cable from the new harness through the circle cut out in the bottom right corner of the sorter frame.
- On the other side of the circle cut out, thread the cable under the Power Entry Switch and up through the zip ties towards the board the original cables were removed from.
- Connect Blue/White end into region 1
- Connect Red/Black into region 2
- Connect Orange/Green into the upper left pin location on the same board
- Double check that no other cables were removed or have become loose in the Electronics Bay.
- Replace the Electronics Bay Side Panel, and power on your sorter to run another test sort.
