Cleaning the card path and rollers
The main feed rollers are replaced in the machine every 500,000 card scans. Over time, other rollers in the card path may build up with residue and need to be cleaned.
- Power down and unplug the Roca Sifter.
- Remove any cards from the hopper and output bins.
- Open the cover by pressing the release button on the right face of the Sifter.
- Take out the removable rollers (refer to Roca Sifter - Replacing Rollers)
- Using a dry micro-fiber or lint-free cloth, rub the cloth gently side-to-side on the rollers and along the card path to remove any build-up and residue.
- If visible build-up is still present, pour a small amount of 90% isopropyl alcohol onto a micro-fiber or lint-free cloth.
- Important: Don't hold the isopropyl alcohol or cloth over the Roca Sifter during this step in case of accidental spills.
- Rub the cloth gently side-to-side on the rollers and along the card path to remove any build-up and residue.
- Note, there are rollers on the underside of the cover as well.
- If isopropyl alcohol was used, wait a few minutes for it to completely dry.
- Close the cover and power the device on again.
