Use this guide to understand what each button, light, and sound on your Roca Sifter means.
Buttons
1. Power Button
Use the power button to turn your Roca Sifter on or off.
- Short press: Powers the device on or off. The light will blink blue while the device is starting up or shutting down. A sound will play when the process is complete.
- Long press: Forces the device to shut down.
2. Play/Pause Button
Use the play/pause button while a Roca Sifter job is in progress.
- Press once to pause the current job.
- Press again to resume the job.
- The button can also be used to continue after certain alerts or errors have been resolved.
3. Setup Button
Important: Do not factory reset your device unless instructed to do so by a Customer Support Agent or when a Roca Sifter troubleshooting guide specifically directs you to do so.
- Short press: Starts Wi-Fi setup mode. The front light will begin blinking green.
- Press and hold for 10-15 seconds: Initiates a factory reset. The front light will begin blinking orange.
Lights
Your Roca Sifter uses lights along the roller path and around the power button to communicate its current status.
Roller Path Lights

Power Button Light
| Color | Behavior | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Red | Blinking | The Roca Sifter is unable to connect to the internet. |
| Orange | Breathing | A factory reset has been initiated. |
| White / Yellow | Blinking |
The device is installing a software update. Do not power off your Roca Sifter while this light is blinking. This may result in corrupted files during the update process. The device checks for software updates after each sift and during startup. If this light is blinking for more than 15 minutes, please refer to our troubleshooting guide for next steps. |
| Green | Solid | Connected to Wi-Fi and ready to use. |
| Green | Blinking | Wi-Fi setup mode is active and the device is attempting to connect. |
| Blue | Solid | Startup is complete and the device is waiting to establish a connection. |
| Blue | Blinking | The device is starting up. |
Sounds
Your Roca Sifter also uses audio notifications to indicate device status, errors, and certain events during a sift.

|---|---|
| Upward Chime (3 notes) | Device has powered on. |
| Downward Chime (4 notes) | Device is powering down. |
| Positive Chime (fast ascending notes) | Setup is complete and the device is connected to the internet. |
| Downward Chime (2 notes) | An error or alert requires attention, such as an empty hopper, card jam, or full output bin. |
| Cash Register Sound | A card that meets your configured high-value threshold was detected during the sift. |
