đź’ˇ How to troubleshoot Roca Sifter errors.
Find the error message shown and match it to the corresponding section below. Follow the troubleshooting steps in order. if the error continues after you complete the recommended steps, contact Customer Support for assistance.
"Connection error"
The Roca Sifter has lost its connection. This can happen if the device is powered off or temporarily unable to reach the internet.
- Check your internet connection. If other devices can't connect, your network may be down temporarily.
- If you are connected via Wi-Fi, make sure your Roca Sifter is close to your Wi-Fi router.
- If you are connected via ethernet:
- Make sure both ends of the ethernet cable are securely connected.
- If the issue continues, try replacing the cable.
"End job or add more cards?"
This message appears when the Roca Sifter is no longer detecting cards in the hopper.
- If the hopper is empty:
- Add more cards and select Add more cards to continue the current job.
- If you are finished, select End job.
- If cards are still in the hopper:
- Make sure the cards are sitting flat and fully inserted.
- If the cards are pringled (curved or warped), place the included weight on top of the stack.
- Select Add more cards to continue.
"End job"
This message appears when you choose to end a job that is currently in progress.
- Select Close to return to the current job without ending it.
- Select End job to stop and complete the current job.
"Bin x needs to be emptied"
One or more output bins have reached capacity and need to be emptied before the Roca Sifter can continue.
- Open the front door.
- Remove the cards from the full bin or bins.
- Keep cards from each bin separated according to their assigned groupings.
- Close the front door securely.
- If the error remains, press the play/pause button.
- If the error still does not clear:
- Remove all cards from the hopper for 1 second, then return them to the hopper and press the play/pause button.
- Check the sensor path for dust or debris.
- Carefully remove any debris with a lint-free cloth or compressed air.
"Top scanner cover is open"
The Roca Sifter is detecting that the top scanner cover is not securely closed.
- Make sure the scanner cover is fully closed and latched into position.
- If the cover is already closed:
- Open the scanner cover.
- Check the sensor area for dust or debris.
- Use compressed air to carefully clear any dust from the sensor.
- Close and securely latch the scanner cover.
"Front door is open"
The Roca Sifter is detecting that the front door is not securely closed.
- Make sure the front door is fully closed.
- If the door is already closed, press the play/pause button.
- If the sift does not resume:
- Open the front door.
- Close it again firmly, making sure it makes a secure connection with the unit.
"Card jam detected"
A card or other obstruction is preventing cards from moving through the Roca Sifter.
- Remove the card stack from the loader.
- Open the top scanner cover.
- Remove the card or any obstructions.
- Close the top scanner cover.
- Replace the cards in the card hopper.
- Select Continue in the error pop-up or press the play/pause button on the Roca Sifter.
"No card picked up"
The Roca Sifter was unable to successfully pick up the next card from the hopper.
- Remove the card stack from the loader.
- Open the top scanner cover.
- Remove the card or any obstructions.
- If the hopper is empty, clear the sensor by using compressed air on the sensor to remove any dust.
- Close the top scanner cover.
- Replace the cards in the card hopper.
- Select Continue in the error pop-up or press the play/pause button on the Roca Sifter.
Dropper Errors
Use the troubleshooting steps below if you see any of the following messages:
“Left dropper didn't reach start position”
“Right dropper didn't reach start position”
“Left dropper didn't reach catch position”
“Right dropper didn't reach catch position”
To resolve the error:
- Open the front door.
- Remove any obstructions.
- Close the front door - the Sifter will automatically try to rehome the dropper.
- When you're done, press the play/pause button on the Roca Sifter or select Continue to resume scanning.
- If the error continues; cancel the current job and power cycle the Roca Sifter.
- If the droppers do not home, return to position or the error continues, contact Customer Support.
"Internal error"
An internal error requires additional troubleshooting from the Roca Support team.
