This guide will provide steps to resolve issues if you are receiving an "Invalid Serial Number" error, or have been locked out due to too many attempts.
Invalid Serial Number
If you've reached the step to enter your Serial Number before your device has completed its updates, you may receive an "Invalid Serial Number" error. If you enter it too many times you may be temporarily locked out. You can try again after 1-2 minutes, a countdown on screen should indicate how long you need to wait.
Check the power button light
If the light is solid green, the device is connected to the internet and ready to complete registration.
If the light is blinking white/yellow, the device is attempting to perform updates. You will be able to enter the Serial Number once updates are complete and the status light has turned solid green.
If the light is any other color, the device may not have started its updates yet. Ensure the device is connected to the internet.
