The Roca Sifter does not authenticate or condition cards. All cards, including those processed in sleeves, should be manually reviewed for authenticity and condition before being listed.
The Roca Sifter is operated within Scan & Identify, which requires a TCGplayer seller account and an active subscription for each Roca Sifter.
Starting a Roca Sifter Job
- Log into the Seller Portal and click the Scan & Identify option in the top row.
- Start a Roca Sifter Job from the Manage Scans or Manage Roca Devices page in the sidebar.
- Option 1: Navigate to the Manage Scans page in the sidebar.
Select Add Scans followed by Start Roca Sifter job from the dropdown.
If you have more than one device, press Select on the desired device.
- Option 2: Navigate to the Manage Roca Devices page in the sidebar.
Select Start a job on the desired device.
- Option 1: Navigate to the Manage Scans page in the sidebar.
Select a game:
Select a job type, and press Continue:
Select your sifting preferences:
- You can select multiple sift criteria at once
- Multiple selections are possible within Rarity and Color, but these will always be OR operators.
For example, you can sift for cards that are Blue OR Red, but not specifically for cards that are Blue AND Red.
- Select how criteria should work together
You must select either AND or OR to indicate how criteria should work together. In this example cards will be Sifted if they are either $0.50 or greater OR have a rarity of Rare or Mythic.
- Select the identification attributes:
- Condition will determine the default condition for all products in the batch.
- The condition of individual products can be adjusted when managing a specific batch before adding them to your inventory.
- Language is supported for English cards during scanning. The Roca Sifter can identify non-English cards only if there is an English version with the same artwork. Identification accuracy may vary depending on how text impacts visual aspects of cards.

Foil Handling determines the foil type that will be used for any foil products detected during scanning. Although the Roca Sifter is able to reliably detect whether foil cards, it cannot tell the difference between foil treatments.
- If a product exists as both foil types, it will match to the one selected.
- If the product scanned does not have a match under the current foil type it will appear in the "Unidentified" products tab.
- You can adjust products later when managing a specific batch before adding them to your inventory.
- Condition will determine the default condition for all products in the batch.
- Choose cards for digital review and listing:
Select which cards you want to appear for review when managing the batch.
NOTE: Cards that are placed in bins that are not selected at this step will not be listed in the batch and cannot be adjusted or pushed to inventory.
- Add batch name and notes
- Use the default name or provide a custom name.
- The default name will indicate the date the job was started, the game type, and a numerical indicator for the sequence of batches from that date and game.
- Use the default name or provide a custom name.
- Select Start job from the bottom right.
- You will be brought directly to your batch and can make adjustments to products while the job is running.
- If you navigate away from the page, you can select Go to job from the Manage Scans page, or the Manage Roca Devices page.
