Required Items:
- Freight Box
- Roca packaging
- Roca gantry lock or zip ties
- Packing tape
- Masking or painters tape
- Packing paper or foam
- At least two people
Instructions:
- Completely power off and unplug the Roca Sorter.
Remove the piston, place it in the foam in the piston box
Slide the gantry to the center of the Roca Sorter. Secure the gantry in place with the gantry lock. Use the piston thumbscrews to hold the gantry to the gantry lock and the gantry lock thumbscrews to hold the gantry to the floor of the Roca. Cover the tubing with a tubing cap or masking tape.
If you do not have a gantry lock, move the gantry to the center of the sorting area and install two zip ties on each of the three belts to prevent the gantry from moving. If you installed the gantry lock, there is no need to install the zip ties.
Cover all pneumatic ports on the sorting frame and pump with masking tape to keep dust out.
- If your pump has tubing which comes through holes in the pump frame, open the pump frame and pull the tubes onto the inside before taping the ends. Reinstall the pump access cover.
- If your pump does not have a removable power cord, tape the end of the power cord to the bottom of the pump frame between the feet and push any extra power cord into the pump frame.
Start with just the base foam inside the Freight Box:
Place the large gusseted plastic bag on the bottom of the foam such that the seam runs from bottom to top as pictured:
Remove the input tray from the sorter and press the emergency stop. Place the sorter into the bag with the front facing toward the open area and pull the bag up around the sorter to protect it. Slide the sorter as far toward the wall of the box as possible.
Install the divider foam such that the cutouts line up with the handles and emergency stop. This works best by pushing the foam around the emergency stop first and then down on the opposite end, working it back and forth a bit to get it into place.
Place the pump in its bag and tape the end closed. Wrap the pump in two bands with the plastic buckles on top. (These bands are used to remove the pump from the foam.)
Push the pump down into its cavity in the foam as shown:
Place a large sheet of foam over the sorter and pump:
Place the accessory box on top of the foam and secure it in place with the four foam blocks. The long sides of the blocks should line up with the long sides of the freight box.
- Wrap the input tray in foam or bubble wrap and place the input tray into the input tray box and then put this into the accessory box. Place the piston into the accessory box as well. Place any other accessories (tablet, router, etc.) into the accessory box. Fill the remaining space in the accessory box with packaging material.
- Close and seal the accessory box with packing tape.
- Place another large sheet of foam on top of the accessory box and then place the lid onto the freight box.
Secure the lid into place with the strapping kit:
- Make sure any old labels are removed or covered. Place one copy of the shipping label in the center of the top of the box and another shipping label on one side. Print and sign two copies of the Bill of Lading and give these to the freight driver at pickup. The driver will sign one and return it to you. Retain this - this is your proof that the shipment was tendered to the freight company.
